Great Depression/WWII:Such a beautiful series. The Homeplace is the first book, followed by The Miracle. It's a small town, cozy story. But at the same time, very sad and heartwarming. If you've ever enjoyed watching The Waltons, The Andy Griffith Show, or anything similar, I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy this series. This novel also falls under the category of romance. It's predictable, and sometimes preachy, but I loved it nevertheless for its unique style. It's one of the few Lori Wick books I have on my 'five-star' shelf.Intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sub-Category: romance
Pre/Post Civil War:What a book. Made me think. The ending is absolutely heart wrenching. There may be some mild thematic scenes of brutality, so be careful for younger readers.
Salem Witch Trials:
- Coming soon! See fantasy.
This book changed my life, more than any other book ever has. It was a wake up call. I think every Christian should read this, and if you haven't, I would most certainly pick up a copy. I'll be reviewing it in detail on another post.
How can I begin to describe the spiritual impact these books have had on me? From The Secret Place teaching me to abide in Christ, through To Die Daily teaching me to do exactly as the title states, this work-in-progress series has truly changed me. I strongly recommend this to any believer. Follow the link to amazon!
