QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU:
We would love to hear a basic outline of how you became an author. Care to share?
Now, here is the cool part. I had a lot to learn about writing, but because of that conference, I made connections that got me an agent in 2011. In early 2012, I asked him if I could self-publish the manuscript so I could raise $200 for my Relay for Life team. At the same time, A Lady in Defiance had made it to the fabled “contract meeting” at a MAJOR Christian publisher. But my book had been selling sort of well on Amazon and the publisher thought I had maxed at out 2000 copies, so the company turned me down. A Lady in Defiance went on that year to sell over 8,000 copies. To date, it has sold over 40,000 copies.
